High Five to the Newest Five
My dear little girl, I can’t believe how much you’ve grown. You were just a precious little baby not long ago, but now you’re a growing little girl who loves to play and has an incredible imagination. You’re a conversationalist, a fluent talker whose ability to pick up new information and ask thoughtful questions astounds us. It’s a daunting skill to have, but it will undoubtedly prepare you for the larger world that awaits you.
I admire your ability to participate in and lead a conversation while using your creative mind and coordinated movement. You ask random school-related questions, and it’s critical that you get an appropriate response. You’re always coming up with crazy ideas, and they always make us laugh. You appear to have an infinite supply of energy that never seems to run out. I’m curious if you ever have a calm mind! But regardless, it’s a wonderful achievement, and I am so happy for you.
However, there is a part of me that is uncontrollably sad. I remember you fondly as the wonderful baby you were, and throughout this time, I have witnessed and admired every small change, development, and milestone you have achieved. But with each milestone comes a little bit of sadness as I realize my baby is growing up so quickly.
We’ve had our fair share of difficult times, and meltdowns happen from time to time. One of the most challenging scenes is getting you out of bed in the morning and assisting you in getting ready for school. We only have a limited amount of time before the school bus arrives to pick you up, and it can be a real struggle. You throw tantrums everywhere and anywhere, especially outside. When you want something and Mommy says NO, I make sure to explain why, and I want you to understand that it’s not always a YES, but you must understand the wording of what we agreed on. But I see that you’re doing your best to learn how to control your emotions and be a responsible little girl.
Drawing is one of your current hobbies, and you enjoy drawing anything that comes to mind. You enjoy showing off your drawings to everyone you meet, whether it’s your teacher, a classmate, or a new friend who happens to ride the school bus. You’re not afraid to demonstrate how you did it, and you appreciate the compliment for such a small gesture. You care about everyone you meet, and it shows in your cheerful disposition.
You amaze us every day with something wonderful that happens to you. You seem to enjoy the lighter side of life and find pleasure in small things. You freely share your smiles and laughter in everyday situations, and every time you do, it brightens up the world. I hope you remember this as you grow older.
My darling little girl, I want you to know that I adored the baby that you were, and I love what you are now. We have made incredible memories together, and I cherish what I have with you in the present. I am looking forward to the future and all that it may hold for you. You’re no longer my small Kachooni, but I assure you that I will always be here by your side and be your friend whenever you need someone to listen to you and guide you.
I love you to the moon and back, my precious little girl.
Mommy ❤️
